A vampire love story gives the independent film studio a moment in the sun.Screaming tweens were being wooed by the golden eyes of vampire paramour Edward Cullen when the pop-culture phenomenon of Twilight took a $69.6 million bite out of the box-office in its inaugural weekend last week. The film did more than increase the heart-rate of young girls; it put movie studio Summit Entertainment in the spotlight.

Twilight, the vampire love story based on the first book of Stephenie Meyer's popular series, was an independent film produced by Summit Entertainment that had a bloodless budget of $37.0 million, according to the website Box Office Mojo.
